[FOOD] World Gourmet Summit returns this April
The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) 2013 is back in town this 16 – 27* April. And for gourmands, there’s no better time to block out your calendar, for dates with Michelin-starred chefs right in your backyard. Singapore is quite small after all.
As the official premium hospitality partner for WGS 2013, Resorts World Sentosa will be hosting some of the events here in our restaurants, including one at our latest attraction, S.E.A. Aquarium.
Present will be notable names in the F&B industry, like Michelin-starred chefs Rodrigo de la Calle and David Munoz, alongside our own award-winning chefs Scott Webster, Sam Leong and Douglas Tay.
Mark these dates on your culinary calendar.
*27 April is a special day for wine connoisseurs, with two masterclasses and a dinner organised in conjunction with WGS.

[EXPLORE] How-to: Press your own penny
To the uninitiated, ‘penny pressing’ may conjure an image of a person furiously thumbing a penny into his palm. Thankfully the real thing doesn’t involve much thumb work and is actually a fun way to bring home a souvenir. We show you how.
[CHALLENGE] Cooking with Cat: Salmon with Mandarin-Habanero Glaze and Couscous
What’s a habanero? And what’s cilantro? We got all these answered after Chef Cat Cora very graciously showed us how to whip up one of her signature dishes: Salmon with Mandarin-Habanero Glaze & Meyer Lemon Couscous with cilantro.
[EXPLORE] Camemberu checked out Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora
Good things should be shared: we shared Chef Cat’s beautiful 5-course menu with avid food and travel blogger Catherine Ling of Camemberu, who in turn, shared her experience with us. Read the edited version of her account below.
[EXPLORE] Underwater dining at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora
Dining at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora is a two part experience: firstly, as the only ‘underwater’ dining experience in Singapore, and secondly, getting a first-hand taste of Iron Chef Cat Cora’s signature dishes. Each on its own is worth sinking your time in; together, they create a unique dining experience worthy of special occasions.
[EXPLORE] Cat ventured into the Ocean (Restaurant)
Fans of Iron Chef America will remember Cat Cora for two reasons: one, for her amazing culinary skills. Two, for being the only female chef on an all-male line up. Now, Chef Cat, who has several television shows, cookbooks, and restaurants under her belt, has traversed the seas to set up her first restaurant in Asia – Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora.
Located inside the S.E.A. Aquarium alongside the Open Ocean Habitat, the restaurant will be using sustainably sourced seafood which echoes the Marine Life Park’s mission of ensuring a healthy future for vibrant and sustainable marine, coastal, and freshwater ecosystems. You’ll get to marvel at the tranquil marine life while you tuck into your meal.
We jumped at the chance for a one-on-one with the poised, friendly chef*.
[CHALLENGE] Plan the ultimate Resort Valentine’s Day
We have come to the conclusion that Valentine’s Day is a painful day.
Why? Simply because of this little thing called expectations. Or rather, failure to meet expectations. Expectations of a wonderful surprise, expectations of a delectable dinner, expectations of a day well-planned. Failure to meet them might result in feelings of under appreciation, sadness, and general huffiness.
This is why we decided to tackle this challenge head-on and address the above expectations. Here’re our “play, eat, and be entertained” Valentine’s Day suggestions for you.
