[FOOD] World Gourmet Summit returns this April

WGS 2013 at Resorts World Sentosa

The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) 2013 is back in town this 16 – 27* April. And for gourmands, there’s no better time to block out your calendar, for dates with Michelin-starred chefs right in your backyard. Singapore is quite small after all.

As the official premium hospitality partner for WGS 2013, Resorts World Sentosa will be hosting some of the events here in our restaurants, including one at our latest attraction, S.E.A. Aquarium.

Present will be notable names in the F&B industry, like Michelin-starred chefs Rodrigo de la Calle and David Munoz, alongside our own award-winning chefs Scott Webster, Sam Leong and Douglas Tay.

Mark these dates on your culinary calendar.

*27 April is a special day for wine connoisseurs, with two masterclasses and a dinner organised in conjunction with WGS.

[CHALLENGE] Make hot chocolate soup at home this Valentine’s Day

Sometimes, making a gift instead of buying one off the shelves feel a little more sincere, simply because of the additional time and effort put into creating it. We think so too, which is why we jumped at the chance when celebrity chef Scott Webster of Osia kindly offered to teach us how to make his signature dessert: Hot Valrhona Chocolate Soup.

Here’s how to make this Valentine’s Day exceptionally sweet.

Australian cuisine is by nature adaptable and ever-changing, influenced by its own melting pot of cultures and inspired by different ingredients and traditional techniques. It is not surprising that Osia, helmed by celebrity chef Scott Webster and chef de Cuisine Douglas Tay, is set to re-invent itself again for a week by bringing in highly lauded chef Otto Weibel for five days from 30 October to 3 November for the second installment of Cooking with Friends.

Mention Perth and you’ll get polarised reactions. It’s either the “Ooh, love the climate” or “What a boring place” response. But when it comes to food, most don’t do a second take. Singaporeans love the free-spirited, effortless, clean flavours of Australia-inspired cuisine.
