One parade, water party and even an after party. Say hi to Soak Out, the all new event to hit Universal Studios Singapore.
From 13 June to 10 August, park guests can join in the new Soak Out Water Party at Universal Studios Singapore every afternoon at 3pm (or 5.30pm on Saturdays), and the Soak Out After Party in the evening on Fridays, Saturdays and selected dates*.
Soak Out Water Party
One of the starting points: Far Far Away!
The Water Party starts with a festive parade and end in a big water party. Two floats will set sail from Far Far Away and Sci-Fi City, heading to the Lagoon Stage in Hollywood zone. Once they reach the meeting point, it’s party time!
There’ll be music and dancing at the water party. More than 50 performers, including characters such as The Minions, Woody and Winnie, the Sesame Street gang, the Madagascar Penguins and the stars of WaterWorld. Some may even join in the fun. You can be part of it too if you have the permitted water guns. (See tip #3.)
Watch out for the aerialist who will be spraying water from high above. The party wraps up with a countdown and blasts from four water cannons.
There are safe zones, so you can still check out the festivities without getting wet yourself. Look out for the signages.
Here are some tips to chill out at Soak Out:
- Know the starting points
Every day at 3pm (or 5.30pm on Saturdays), two floats set sail from Far Far Away or Sci-Fi City. Tag along to the Lagoon Stage to join in the water party, or reserve your spot in front of the Lagoon Stage at 3pm for some good procession photos.
- Waterproof your phones and cameras for photo opp
Bring waterproof covers for your phone and camera since you won’t want to miss the photo opportunities, especially if you are going to be in the thick of the action.
You’ll probably want to waterproof that camera too, sir.
- Leave your water guns at home
For safety reasons, only two types of water guns are allowed. And both can be purchased from the carts around the water fight area.
- Bring clothes to change
If you’re planning to join in the water party, bring another set of clothing so you won’t end up dripping wet. Store your extra clothes in the lockers in USS to avoid getting them soaked.
- If you don’t want to get wet, stay out of the wet zone
If you are aquaphobia, avoid the Lagoon Stage from 3pm to 3.30pm and use this opportunity to hop onto your favourite rides (since most should be congregating at the lagoon). Otherwise, look out for the wet-dry boundary so you can still check out the festivities while staying out of the fire, err water blasts.
Soak Out After Party
On Fridays, Saturdays and selected dates, park guests can stay back for the Soak Out After Party from 6pm to 9pm at New York Public Library. Non-park guests who wish to just attend this event can get the After 5pm passes at S$55.
At the After Party, expect DJ Inquisitive on the mixer as well as local band The Good Karma hitting out some ‘90s music.
Park rides are operating too so jump on and zoom through the night skies for a different experience. We recommend these outdoor rides: Canopy Flyer, Enchanted Airways, Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, and the Battlestar Galactica.
