Flying Through Time at Resorts World Theatre - The Resorts World Sentosa Blog

Uproarious comedy meets sports choreography and time travel in this upcoming live action show at Resorts World Theatre – Flying Through Time.

If you enjoy the hilarious expressions and high-energy, non-verbal comedy of NANTA Cooking, JUMP and most recently CHEF: Bibimbap vs Chilli Crab, you will enjoy Flying Through Time as it is also the brainchild of Korean director Choi Chul Ki.

A story that transcends time, space and culture

The story begins in ancient Korea, where Dark X steals the Great Magic Rod to transform warriors into monsters. Its guardian, Tiger, tries to stop him but loses his sweetheart, Melly, in the battle that ensues. In his pursuit of Dark X, Tiger enters a time warp and finds himself in modern Singapore, faced with an unexpected mission to train the MerTiger Academy Cheerleading team.

Will Tiger fall in love again? Will he succeed in his new mission AND retrieve the Great Magic Rod?

Told purely through facial expression and body movement, this language-agnostic production tells a universal tale of good versus evil, and a love that conquers all – without words!

An international ensemble with local flavour

Home-grown heartthrob Joshua Tan (of Ah Boys To Men fame) plays the lead role of Tiger, and local starlet Melody Low plays the curvaceous cheerleader Sexy. Though each has a substantial filmography to his/her name, this will be the first time that either are starring in a live theatre production.

(Watch this space for an exclusive interview with Joshua, Melody and Director Choi.)

The two will be joined by an international cast of martial artists, gymnasts and ex-national athletes from China, Malaysia, Mongolia, South Korea and Taiwan to put together an epic production of jaw-dropping stunts, ‘sport-formance’, comedy and romance.

A collaboration with tertiary institutions

Flying Through Time also marks the first ever collaboration between Resorts World Sentosa, Nanyang Polytechnic and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. The two local tertiary institutions will be creating elaborate costumes for all 13 characters, scenic façades, and animations used throughout the show.

Flying Through Time is set to captivate the entire family with energetic sports choreography, uproarious comedy, and of course, a winning dose of local flavour. So come fly through time with us, and let your heart soar on the wings of imagination.
