It is a truth universally acknowledged that spending the holidays at home saves a lot more money than travelling overseas.
For those in Singapore who aren’t travelling overseas for the June school holidays, here are five value-for-money ways to spend your time at Resorts World Sentosa.
Be part of an optical illusion at Trick Eye Museum

You won’t need to fly to South Korea’s to visit the Trick Eye Museum. The popular attraction is opening its first overseas branch in RWS on 8 June.
Even if you have been to the museum in Seoul, the museum in Singapore will feature exhibits that reflect Singapore’s city landscape and atmosphere, such as a Merlion-themed exhibit that for you to “sit on” for photos.
Find out what to expect at this Trick Eye Museum.
Go on a vacation without leaving the country

Save on air tickets and go on a staycation at RWS. You’ll get quick access to the Resort’s two theme parks, an aquarium, many restaurants and retail options.
Plus, Sentosa Island’s attractions and the beach are only minutes away. You can practically spend days on the island.

Celebrate World Oceans Day at S.E.A. Aquarium

Instead of sending the kids off to summer camps on marine biology, head over to S.E.A. Aquarium to learn more about the environment and creatures under the sea.
This June, join in the fun as Marine Life Park celebrates World Oceans Day. The month-long event includes
- Roving magic, “Eco music”, silhouette puppet shows and collaborative art
- Meet and greet with our conservation mascot, Bluub
- Free Fun Learning passport for kids to learn about marine life
- Pledge $3 to support students’ conservation projects and get a Bluub pin that you can wear to show your support
You can find out more details about World Oceans Day at S.E.A. Aquarium on the RWS website.
Purchase a S.E.A. Aquarium annual pass to get discounts to many other attractions.
Cool off at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Instead of blasting your air conditioning, save on electricity by cooling down at Adventure Cove Waterpark.
To amuse younger children, take a float down the Adventure River and try the other kiddie rides. For taller children, send them on spine-chilling rides at the Waterpark.
From now until 31 July 2014, purchase two S.E.A. Aquarium or Adventure Cove Waterpark Adult One-Day Passes at S$50 (U.P. S$76 / S$72). The ticket is only valid for park visits from 1 June to 15 August2014.
Your family won’t have to travel to Malaysia or Taiwan to feast on all the usual favourite dishes.
At the Malaysian Food Street, get famous dishes from the Peninsula Malaysia such as the Penang Laksa, claypot chicken and Hokkien noodles. If you are a fan of the sweet taste of gula Melaka, don’t miss out on the Penang Chendol.
You can also get your fix of Taiwanese street food right here at RWS. The famous Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken has a stall near the Waterfront monorail station. If you’re thirsty, bubble tea franchise Gong Cha is next to Hot-Star.
