Rock-n-Roll, Jukebox and Frosty Shakes!
I’m a huge fan of the 1950s retro age of classic American diners and the always appealing cheeseburgers and fries synonymous with the Greenback nation. And you can get this and more at Mel’s Drive-In in Universal Studios Singapore, which combines great food with a great atmosphere, encapsulating the rock-n-roll fad that took the world by storm in the cult movie Grease, and marking an era in old world America where gaudy flared skirts and body-hugging shirts were all the rage.
More than just a voice
[Written by Suryanee from Call Centre]
“ Mirror, mirror on the desk! We are not Snow White but RWS Angels!
Guess what the Resorts World Sentosa Call Center’s team members’ secret weapon is — the mirror.
The Mirror is our main weapon at our workstation. It’s not for the Angels to touch up our makeup or to comb our hair. The mirror reminds us to smile whenever we speak to you, even though this is done just over the phone.
Our dictum: Look, Smile and Greet, because we are the first to greet you when you call Resorts World at Sentosa!
On average, we handle 200 calls per day and most of them are about job enquiries. Our common response?
“We have a whole suite of exciting job opportunities and a variety of interesting roles. Log on to www.rwsentosa.com to find out more.”
That’s our common reply whenever we are asked, “What kind of jobs do RWS offer?”
This is because we have so many exciting career opportunities: Imagine one resort offering six different holiday experiences in our six differently-themed hotels, the one and only Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia and the world’s largest oceanarium.
This means we have a lot of jobs, and reciting them over the phone will be a neverending task, hence the referral to the website, where you can actually apply online as well!
The next most common question asked will be that about when we are opening.
Of course, the answer — SOON!
You won’t believe the number of calls we have had to field once we unveiled Universal Studios Singapore, and we are so jazzed up about this! (Seriously — Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore have so many of the world’s bests and firsts, such as the world’s tallest pair of dueling coasters, the world’s only DreamWorks attractions etc)
Since we are on track for opening on the first quarter of 2010, we are tied up with the pre-opening training including phone and email etiquette, rooms and corporate introduction.
With all the trainings that we attended (and with more to come!), we have managed to know more about our job scope and team members from the various departments.
Of course, we are thankful to Diana, our Manager (Training and Support) and Yixian for organizing all the training.
Once RWS starts operating in due course, we will be on 24 hours shift seven days a week. We will be working closely with the various hotels, Universal Studios Singapore, the Casino and F&B.
So there is no reason for you not to miss the chance for a million moments, one world!
Here’s a look at the people behind the Voices, who make up this very unique team:

Vantage Point
[Written by CY from Rooms]
It is a brand new month and things are really heating up. The number of fans of the Resorts World at Sentosa Facebook Page is fast approaching the 10,000 mark. Everyone is waiting anxiously for us to open and we are also stepping up our paces to deliver a Million Moments in One World.
The excitement of our Opening is palpable, judging from the overwhelming response when we launched the preview of Universal Studios Singapore — everyone just can’t wait to get their hands on the tickets to the theme park!
One of the many exciting privileges of being part of the pre-opening team is that you get the latest updates of the developments, fresh from the oven, before everyone else. Just a couple of days back, I went for my first site visit and got sneak peeks into the resort and her other offerings.
Fans of Resorts World Sentosa seem to be really envious that members of the local and international media got to enjoy a tour of the theme park not too long ago. Not to make you guys more envious but during my recent site visit, I got to see something that the media did not get to see – a bird eye’s view of the entire theme park right from a hotel’s room within Resorts World at Sentosa. I would just imagine that when it is completed, guests will definitely be blown away by that stunning and breathtaking view.
I am sure you have heard of rooms with sea views, lagoon views, pool views and city views but which hotel has rooms that face Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park? It is only at Hotel Michael in Resorts World Sentosa that you get this.
Hotel Michael, taken Oct 26, 2009
Cool, ain’t it?
Take a bet, albeit not a real one on Hotel Michael.
Here’s a tip: If you are a guest at Hotel Michael and are staying in an even-numbered room, you can consider yourself really lucky as the room comes with a view of Universal Studios Singapore, free!
A view of the Universal Studios Singapore theme park… once opened, cranes and other construction machinery will not be part of the picture, of course
Stand on the rooftop of the hotel and look down onto the theme park– you might just feel that you have travelled across different fantasy worlds.
Hollywood and New York have never been so near as the two zones are right at the doorstep of Hotel Michael. Enjoy the glitz and glamour of the rich and the famous and if you are lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of Marilyn Monroe!
Kids staying at Hotel Michel may also be the first to realise that the Far Far Away land is actually not that far away after all. You can easily spot Shrek and Princess Fiona’s castle in the comfort of your room. Zoom in and you might be able to spy what they are up to in their castle!
Spot lots of lush greenery? Chances are you are probably looking at the Lost World from your hotel room. Take a closer look and you may just spot the menacing dinosaurs in Jurassic Park!
If there is one view that you should never miss, it would be that of our iconic Battlestar Galactica roller coaster, which is the world’s tallest pair of dueling coasters.
You don’t even have to open your eyes to locate where the attraction is. Just follow the source of wild screams and screeches emanating from the Sci-Fi zone. That’s where the attraction sits.
Guests staying in odd-numbered are not left out either. They will wake up to the breathtaking view of the other parts of Resorts World Sentosa, such as the bustling FestiveWalk and Bull Ring.
Tired from soaking in the sights and sounds of the theme park? Just ask for our friendly room service and you will be able to enjoy afternoon tea with your family in the comfort of room against the orange backdrop of evening’s sunset.
Night falls and you still would like to see more? Climb up to the rooftop of Hotel Michael on the 11th floor where we have our exclusive Sky Bar. I could easily imagine that this would be my favourite hangout spot in the hotel. With a glass of red wine in my hand and the breathtaking night view of the harbour and the Universal Studio to boost, I can’t imagine another way to end the day as this is the only rooftop watering hole in the entire resort which offers the entire view of the harbourfront and Universal Studios Singapore.
So for fans of Michael Graves and Universal Studios Singapore, this hotel should be on the top of your list. But if you can’t get a room here, fret not, for REALLY, the hotels in Resorts World Sentosa are within walking distance of one another. Really really.
The time draws near…
Testing of some of the attractions in Universal Studios Singapore has already commenced, and if you take a trip to Sentosa Island, you will be able to see for yourselves the changes which have taken place.
Of course, those of you who have been following our progress via our website, Facebook and Twitter updates will know that we are trying our darnest to make this Integrated Resort the best in the world, to offer visitors A Million Moments, in just One World.
Hence, we are having another walk-in interview for F&B positions this weekend at our Pandan Gardens office.
Details below, so do please click on the image for more information. Also, please do click on this LINK as well to get more information about the exciting jobs Resorts World Sentosa has to offer.

Update on Croupier Training in Manila
Last time I blogged about the croupiers getting caught in one of the worst typhoons in Manila’s history. Just a few days ago, I found that that they really can’t get enough of (or get away from) the water. The croupiers took a trip to Villa Escudero for some sun and fun. Have a look:

Happy smiling people

Water Rafting – waiting for the rafts

Water Rafting – getting on the rafts (don’t fall in!!)

Carabao Ride
Other highlights include lunch at the waterfalls, a cultural show, and fishing! We heard that no one actually caught any fish. No worries, croupiers. Just stick to your full-time jobs! That will keep our visitors at the Resorts World Casino very happy.
That’s all I have for now. Chat again soon.
Hollywood, Here I Come!
[Written by Tania H from Communications]
Just last week when I was on my way to work, I saw the Far Far Away castle, or for fans of the DreamWorks animation, the name of the castle is the ‘First Castle from the World of Shrek’.
It’s being built at an unbelievable speed; other than the highest turret which has been erected (measuring some 42.5m in height), the main facade is also almost completed.
For a moment, I felt like a child again, looking at the majestic castle and wondering what it beholds. Then it occurred to me that this is a part of my (world’s first) ‘office’, considering I’ll be conducting work at some point in time in the castle, be it showing the media around or talking shop with my Universal Studios Singapore colleagues. I can’t believe we’re almost coming to the end of the rainbow to find the pot of gold!
A mock-up of the ginormous lettering, which will greet visitors to Sentosa Island. This has been put out in the sun some weeks back to test the weather fastness of the paint.
The other exciting development for me is actually the constructing of the larger-than-life-sized alphabets that spell ‘Sentosa’ at the entrance of the island, which will be among the first things greeting guests when they commute to Resorts World Sentosa. The letters are humungous and I’ve seen them at the current construction site, waiting to be transported to their new home. Imagine—instead of the famous Hollywood sign that has become emblematic of the playground of the rich and the famous in Los Angeles, we’ll all be seeing ‘Sentosa’ standing proudly on our own Sentosa hill, and that’ll be another unforgettable sight to behold.
And now to continue where I left off at my previous entry, I’ll fill you in on more of Universal Studios Singapore’s exciting food offerings. Other than the 12 dining outlets, of which six are Halal certified for our muslim guests (i.e. Mel’s Drive-In, Friar’s, Goldilocks, Celebrity Café & Bakery, Oasis Spice Café and Gloria’s Snack Shack) and the many vegetarian options to cater to the diets of lacto-vegetarians, strict vegans and fruitarians alike, we also have innovatively-themed food carts too — and you heard it here first!
The Pops! food cart… with loads of popped delights
Instead of your usual run-of-the-mill food kiosks, some of these amazing 500-metre long fanciful food carts are actually fabricated out of automobiles and will be stationed at the respective zones of the park. They are extremely eye-catching and were creatively designed to reflect the food they serve. Like for the Pops! food cart shown in the photograph below, naturally, it spells popcorn! But not just any salted caramel or sweet-buttered popcorn, there’ll be flavours out of this world that you’ve never tried before.
In addition to this one, there’ll be a motley crew of others with quirky names like Tail of the Pup selling hot dogs and sausages; Curry Up! selling Indian pratas; Gingy’s House of Sweets selling special candy apples and Little Red’s selling smoked giant turkey legs and yummy savoury pies.
As for drinks, grab special arctic blast frozen drinks from the Antarctic Refreshments food cart and for some indulgence, sink your teeth into the extremely sinful, but mouth-watering churros first to hit Singapore, from The Churro Station food cart. Are you drooling yet?
I can already hear my tummy rumbling so while I go settle my hunger pangs, I’ll leave you to rummage your refrigerator. Expect more photos when we’re ready to release them, and so until my next entry, eat well and sleep well because you are what you eat!
When giant lizards walked the earth…
[Written by Jimmy S from Projects]
Step into the Lost World of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park fame in one of Universal Studios Singapore (USS) heavily themed zones. Experience the lush jungles where every step you take may just be your last. Nestled in the easternmost part of USS (and the Integrated Resort), in between Ancient Egypt and Dreamworks, this zone currently houses 5 attractions, 2 F&B outlets and 2 Retail shops.
So what can you expect when you walk among the lizards?
Well for starters, definitely visit the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. This attraction is a flume ride so you definitely need to be prepared to get yourselves wet! Based loosely on the blockbuster hit Jurassic Park and the sequels, this attraction have you revisit John Hammond’s (you still remember the grandfatherly old man?) Jurassic Park after it re-opened after days of torrential downpours. A routine Rapids Adventure through the safe regions of the park was disrupted due to flooding and the visitors (you included!) are thrust into an unplanned trip into unchartered territory. While there, come face to face with Velociraptors (raptors), Dilophosauruses (spitters) and the notorious Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex) as you try to escape with your lives. Will you survive? Just wait and see.
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure – A section of the ride, water not filled yet!
Another major wow here is the WaterWorld (WW) attraction. Re-visit the oceans and human settlements set in the post-apocalyptic film world of the same name released back in 1995. Be awed by the spectacular and death-defying stunts as the Smokers (in WW speak, that’s the pirates and the bad guys) attacked the Atollers (the good guys) in an attempt to discover the secrets to Dryland (the Paradise). It culminates in a showdown between Deacon (of the Smokers) and Mariner (helping out the Atollers), both vying for Helen, the person with information to Dryland. There will be plenty of actions on jet-skis, lots of explosions and plenty of humour in the antics of the casts. Not to mention, a seaplane would also make an appearance. A fan classic from Universal Studios Hollywood and Japan, don’t miss this out. And for those sitting in the front rows, you will get wet.
Oh and did I mention this was a live show?

WaterWorld
Amber Rock Climb – work in progress!
Rock climbing buffs will be interested in checking out the Amber Rock Climb, an actual rock climbing wall themed to the look of the Lost World. Climb the sheer rock face of the era filled with ambers and fossilized insects. And take in the breathtaking view at the top. Would there be some ‘treasure’ at the top? You’ll just have to find out.
Parents with children would not want to miss out visiting the Dino Soarin’, a carousel ride where the young ones can ride Pteranodons as they soar up into the skies and dive towards the ground, metaphorically speaking of course. Of course don’t forget the view from up there. Unfortunately, only children are allowed.
Canopy Flyer – part of the route, you can see the Dino Soarin’ in the foreground
If you are looking for a leisurely ride along the tree tops of the foliage, head over to the Canopy Flyer. Sit in a 4-person gondola under the wings of a Pteranodon as you glide across the Lost World zone. Take in the view of the other attractions and the central lagoon while you are up there.
Discovery Food Court– Centerpiece
Don’t forget your souvenirs from the Jurassic Outfitters and the Dino-Store where you can obtain all sorts of paraphernalia. And if you are feeling hungry, just visit either of the two F&B outlets in this zone; a quick and fast meal over at Fossil Fuels or sit down in the Discovery Centre building and have a relaxing meal at the Discovery Food Court.
Once you are ready, it’s time to visit the other zones and attractions in the park! That, however, will have to wait until next time.
Let’s Ride The Movies!!!
Fans of Resorts World Sentosa are really enthusiastic. They’ve been blogging, commenting, scribbling on our walls (i.e. on Facebook), capturing our every progress on film and basically charting our milestones to share with the rest of the world.
Hence, here’s a note to thank you for all the support, because your enthusiasm and excitement are what’s driving us here in Resorts World Sentosa. And we hope we haven’t been disappointing you as we have been diligently disseminating the latest news to the media and public about our astounding progress, so you can revel in our exhilaration as well.
This is especially after yesterday’s press conference where we unveiled the highly-anticipated Universal Studios Singapore in all its glory, and showed the world the long-awaited interactive park map (click http://www.rwsentosa.com/USS_map_Eng/en_map-uss.html), which caused local and foreign journalists alike to have flutters in their tummies.
During the press conference, we screened a short video hosted by famous Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, describing how you can experience for yourself a ferocious category 5 hurricane rip a city apart, as this is recreated in a special effects theatre called Lights! Camera! Action!, which is one of the key attractions in the Hollywood zone (one of seven zones) in Universal Studios Singapore.
In addition, we’ll also be inviting big names to host their shows at Stage 28 (also housed in Hollywood zone), where you can get behind the scenes and experience real time film production in a fully out-fitted world-class sound stage.
After the press conference, it was time to bask in the sun as several dozen journalists got the chance of a lifetime to visit the theme park before we officially open next year.
The lucky journalists and cameramen were also treated to a sneak peek of the spectacular WaterWorld live show that is based on the blockbuster hit WaterWorld starring Kevin Costner as the stuntmen zipped about on their watercraft, going through the paces.
We also took a jaunt down to the Oasis Spice Café™ which is one of the larger dining outlets to host big groups and families. It is within the Ancient Egypt zone (which is my one of my favourite zones because I’m a fan of the movie Revenge of the Mummy) and it serves Halal buffeteria style Mediterranean, Indian and Malay food, which caters to the diets of vegans and meat-lovers alike. This is one of the six Halal-certified dining outlets in Universal Studios Singapore, in addition to Mel’s Drive-In, Friar’s, Goldilocks, Celebrity Café & Bakery, and Gloria’s Snack Shack.
After about more than an hour’s walk, the media took their last few photos and remarked they could already envisage the awesome-ness of the park coming into place. Actually, a few of my colleagues and I toured the park last week (and it was my first visit) and comparing the progress with what I saw yesterday, I must highly commend all the workers for the work they’ve done at such incredulous speed.
A recap of my first impressions of the park: walking around and checking out the dining outlets was kind of like touring the alternate world of blockbuster Hollywood films. Every zone is unique and based on a certain hit movie and era in time.
But the remarkable thing is that once you leave a zone behind, you feel like you’re in another country, in another universe, which is the wonder of the theme park. The dining outlets in each zone serves a different cuisine, and in a themed setting. You could dine with the dinosaurs at The Lost World, or more specifically, in the Discovery Food Court™ which is the biggest dining outlet in the park, where you can savour Singapore’s best selection of laksa, chicken rice and other local delights in the Discovery Center building that was featured in the original Jurassic Park movie.
As for takeaways, there’s Fossil Fuels™ also at The Lost World, where you can refuel your energy by chomping on a light snack, quick meal or slurp a couple of refreshing frozen drinks at this tropical jungle watering hole.
But if you’re a fan of Dreamworks Animation’s Madagascar, pop by Casa Del Wild as Marty, The Zebra treats you to a variety of lip-smacking South East Asian specialties such as nasi padang, pad thai, chicken rice and Asian rotisserie chicken. Alternatively, join Gloria at her favorite watering hole, aptly named Gloria’s Snack Shack™, offering Japanese-inspired quick bites like yakitori and rice bowls and invigorating thirst-quenchers.
Personally, I can’t wait to pop by Mel’s Drive-In because I adore the 1950s retro era, especially the rock-and-roll culture and at Mel’s Drive-In, you can eat you heart out over classic American favorites like juicy cheeseburgers and hot fries, sandwiches, crispy onion rings, decadent root beer floats and frosty milk shakes! There’ll be booth seats, retro décor, vintage cars parked outside the outlet and even acapella singers to entertain while you eat.
Also in the Hollywood zone is Celebrity Café and Bakery™, which is rumored to be where Marilyn Monroe was talent scouted. Fill your tummies with gourmet sandwiches, puff pastry pies and classic desserts, and who knows, you might be spotted as the next big thing!
But if you’re within the Hollywood and feel like having Chinese chow, Hollywood China Bistro is the place to head to. It serves East meets West Chinese fusion cuisine and dim sum which is freshly-made and to-die-for.
Over in New York zone, KT’s Grill which is an authentic New York Grill has a rich woodwork interior reminiscent of a 1940’s NY dinner house and is also an excellent place to dine at. The menu includes classic New York grill entrees, sandwiches, soups and salads; along with a fresh oyster bar and Pacific Rim influenced East meets West dishes.
But if you’re in the Big Apple and you’ve never tried the authentic New York jumbo sliced pizza, then you haven’t been to New York. So make sure to drop by Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor™ to grab a traditional flavored pizza or one of local favourites like Hawaiian or tandoori chicken.
Traipsing to Far Far Away zone, there are three dining options to satisfy your every craving. Check out Goldilocks™ where you can sink your teeth into the crispiest fried chicken and fish and chips, together with tasty sides like fresh mash potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and french fries. For something lighter, stop by Friar’s™, which offers fast yet delicious food on-the-go where you can select from a variety of wraps, including Thai peanut chicken wrap, tandoori chicken wrap, turkey wrap and veggie wrap and more. As for Fairy Godmother’s Potion Shop, you can quench your thirst with healthy, freshly-made fruit juices and ‘elixirs’ to help you continue with your adventure.
If you’ve been to Universal Studios Orlando (USO) before, you’ll probably experience a sense of déjà vu when you visit us because we are based on the former. I remember sinking my teeth into a ginormous turkey drumstick, which was the biggest drumstick I’d ever seen in my life, and it was meaty enough to feed two mouths for lunch! And guess what? We’re bringing in the same turkey drumsticks! Yum!
As we move towards Opening, and as our workload gets overwhelmingly wonderful, please bear with us and we hope to welcome you in person very, very soon!
Powering away with the recruitment
[Written by Karen C from HR]
Still looking to join RWS? Guess what?
That’s right. The RWS HR team put together another recruitment drive at Suntec Convention Centre on Oct 12 & 13. Psst, this way for a sneak peak at our recruitment drive. The entire foyer of the second floor ballroom was lined with candidates filling in applications for jobs in Retail (Sales Associates), F&B (Waiter/Waitress, Commis Cook, Bartender) and Universal Studios Singapore® (Crew).
Some candidates even received immediate job offers. Welcome to the RWS family!!
If you missed this round, we are still accepting applications. You can write us at careers@rwsentosa.com, surf our job descriptions at www.rwsentosa.com/careers, or visit us at any of our recruitment talks. Our HR folks will be at e2i (141 Redhill Road) at 2pm this Wed (Oct 21), next Wed (Oct 28) and next Thurs (Oct 29).
Not even a typhoon will stop us from opening in early 2010
Enough of that recruitment talk. What happens after a candidate is hired into the RWS family? Training, obviously. We’ve been busy prepping our staff for our early 2010 opening. Not to get you all excited or anything, but our doors will be opening very very soon. (In fact, our first event will happen even before our early 2010 opening! Click here for more details.)
I digress – I really want to share a little insider info about the croupier training in Manila. As some of you might already know, we’ve been sending hundreds of croupiers to our Genting casino in Manila for hands-on training.
However, as many of you probably already know, Manila was also recently hit by one of the biggest tropical storms in its entire history. Needless to say, our croupiers were also affected.
Before our croupiers realized how severe the storm was, they were still happily taking pictures and having a bit of fun with the strong winds/rain.
The aftermath of the storm
This is an account by one of our trainers, Wendy C:
“On the weekend that Tropical Storm Ketsana hit (26 September 2009), the Resorts World croupiers were due to go on a group outing to the Tagaytay Highlands [for the uninitiated, Tagaytay is a volcanic highland resort with cool weather, nice mountainous views, trekking, river activities and horse riding]. Our plans were cancelled after the storm drenched Manila with very heavy rain and strong winds. The storm flooded parts of the city, including the area where our croupiers are staying, and knocked out the water and electricity at their apartments.
“We worked closely with our partners in Manila to deliver drinking water to the croupiers at their apartments and made sure we kept in regular contact with them. We also arranged for their cooks to prepare and deliver meals, both lunch and dinner, to the croupiers for a whole week after the storm.
“Over and above, we also gave the name list of all our trainees to the Singapore Embassy in the Philippines in the event of a worsening of the situation and a need for evacuation.”
We are glad that our croupiers are safe and are very satisfied with their progress in the mastery of multiple table games & chip handling. However, we are exceptionally pleased with their contributions to the residents of Manila.
After the disaster, our kind croupiers raised money to help Filipinos who were affected by the storm. They raised a total of 52,690 Pesos and donated to the needy. There was even a youtube video of our trainees rescuing cars from the flood!
Their outstanding behavior in the face of a crisis makes us very proud to have them as part of the RWS family.

Unveiling the Best of Universal Studios® at Universal Studios Singapore®
Resorts World® Sentosa introduces 18 new-to-the-world rides and attractions within seven theme zones at Universal Studios Singapore
SINGAPORE, 20 October 2009 – Resorts World Sentosa brings together the best of Universal Studios theme parks in Hollywood, California, Orlando, Florida and Osaka, Japan with seven
themed zones that promise an enthralling Ride The Movies™ experience at Universal Studios Singapore.
Located within one of the world’s most extensive and expensive tourism projects- the US$4.4 billion Resorts World Sentosa – Universal Studios Singapore features 24 rides and attractions, 18 of them original or adapted for Singapore.
Reeling out the movie theme park offerings for the first time, Resorts World Sentosa today, pulled the drapes off a pair of the world’s tallest duelling coasters, a castle from the world of Shrek, a live show by the infamous Universal Monsters and celebrity look-a-likes including Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop. Supporting the attractions was a sneak-peek debut that included an extensive menu of 30 restaurants and food carts, as well as 20 retail stores and carts.
Mr Tan Hee Teck, CEO of Resorts World Sentosa, said: “Asians love movies and we are proud to introduce the region’s first and only Universal Studios theme park. Universal Studios Singapore will be one of the biggest and most exciting theme parks in the world, and it will be a tourism crown jewel for not just Singapore, but the whole region.
“We are in the final stages of construction, and for those who have had a sneak preview of Universal Studios Singapore taking shape, it has been an unanimous response that this is going to be a ‘must-see’ when Resorts World Sentosa opens early next year.’’
“Universal Studios Singapore will be its own unique experience and family destination with many new rides, shows and themes that can’t be found at other Universal Studios parks around the world,” said Tom Williams, chairman and CEO, Universal Parks & Resorts. “Universal’s attention to location-specific creative and design promises to deliver first-time Singapore guests –as well as devoted Universal Studios visitors that enjoyed other global locations—an exciting, different and memorable experience,” added Williams.
Universal Studios Singapore is located within Resorts World Sentosa, Asia’s most exciting family destination that is home to six hotels, a casino, the world’s largest Marine Life Park and a destination spa – ESPA — among other attractions.
Resorts World Sentosa will showcase Universal Studios Singapore at the inaugural ITB Asia trade show at Suntec Singapore from tomorrow to October 23 at its booth located at Hall 602, K12.
Presenting the seven zones of Universal Studios Singapore®:
1. Hollywood: Step into the center of the entertainment universe where Broadway-style theater (modelled after the famous Hollywood Pantages Theater) and an eye-catching collection of eateries and shops line its streets. Mel’s Drive-In™, from the hit movie American Graffiti, serves up burgers and cokes the old-fashioned way. Framed by dynamic architecture, palm trees and the famous Walk of Fame, guests will feel as if they have landed themselves at Hollywood Boulevard.
2. New York: Feel the spirit and energy of America’s biggest and grandest city as you stroll the sidewalks of the bold and romantic Big Apple that appears in all great movies. This is where all the classic landmarks of NYC prevail —the city skylines, neon lights, and facades that set the scenes for big city fun and real-time movie production. LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!™, a special effects stage hosted by Steven Spielberg brings you behind the scenes of intriguing movie sets and Stage 28 offers a chance to be part of real-time move production. Sit down for a meal at the full service KT’s Grill or grab a slice of NY’s best pizza at Loui’s NY Pizza Parlour™.
3. Sci-Fi City™: The city of the future has arrived.
