What your best friend won’t tell you about ESPA

ESPA-at-RWS---Feel-Great-Again

Admit it: we are all selfish. We share many things we like but when it comes down to those that knock our socks off, we keep them to ourselves. ESPA is one of these ‘secrets’.

Lucky for you, I’m the type of friend who likes to share. In this two-part series, I’ll let you in on some of the best kept secrets of ESPA.

For this first post, here’s a little known fact. When you arrange for a 60-minute treatment (or longer), you’ll get to enjoy all the following facilities without forking out another dime. Try them before or after your spa session – or both before and after if you have the constitution for it.

Rock Sauna

Unlike most dim and claustrophobic saunas, , this one is bright and airy with views of the pool and forest.

Crystal Steam Room

More than just water vapour, this steam room has several Amethyst geodes strategically placed to add a balancing and healing touch.

Forest Onsen-style Pools

These picture-perfect Japanese-inspired pools contain soothing mineralised water warmed to a comfortable 40–42 degrees Celsius. Trust me, one dip and you won’t feel like getting out.

Outdoor Vitality Pool and Cold Plunge Pool

These two pools are meant to work hand in hand. Start off with the warm Vitality Pool for 15 minutes before heading over to the neighbouring Cold Plunge Pool. This process regulates your body temperature and prevents overheating while putting you in a relaxed state after your treatment. Personally, I’d say this is quite an experience. A definite must try.

Ice Fountain and Experience Showers

After using the steam room or sauna, grab some ice chips from the Ice Fountain and place them on your pulse points to cool down. If you prefer a 360-degree experience, step inside the Experience Shower for a ‘hydro massage’ by six body jets and an overhead shower.

Sleep Zone and Social Relaxation Lounge

I hate the feeling of having to leave right after a spa session, so this Sleep Zone is a godsend. These plush pods are just like first class airline seats and are meant for post-session relaxation. Draw the curtains, set up some soft music and put on the headphones. Take as long as you like here. If you just want to sit in quiet contemplation, make yourself comfortable on a sofa or outdoor lounger at the Social Relaxation Lounge.

With these, even if your actual spa session is just one hour, your enjoyment can easily last for half a day or more.

Come back next week as we let you in on some unusual treatments and services you can find at ESPA.
