What your best friend won’t tell you about ESPA part 2

In part 1, I shared about the complimentary facilities that you can use when you book a treatment at ESPA at Resorts World Sentosa. This time, it is about the ‘hidden’ sanctuary I discovered when I toured the spa – ESPA’s Finishing Studio.

Unlike nail salons that are usually cramped and cluttered, ESPA’s is almost like a lounge – neat and spacious, with a slight sweet scent. You walk in knowing that the experience will be a treat.

Check out how neat the Nail Studio is.

You can pick one of five stations for your manicure and one of six massage chairs for your pedicure.  Then just sit/lie back and let your tension flow away even as your nails get buffed, shaped and dolled up. It’s really top to toe indulgence.

With its chic and calm ambience, the Finishing Studio is suited for private events such as a bachelorette party. It has indeed hosted a number of corporate events. Here’s why.

This area can comfortably accommodate 20 people, and guests can be treated to 15 or 20-minute treatments such as Hand Rejuvenation (hand massage using premium ESPA essential oil that smells and feels divine), Foot Reflex Zone Massage (a relaxing reflex point massage that stimulates pressure points on the feet) and Back Seated Chair Massage (a back, neck and shoulder massage while seated on a special massage chair). The enclosed setting is very conducive for networking, where with a mocktail in hand, you can either mingle with other invited guests, or excuse yourself for a manicure or pedicure as the evening progresses.

Now, if you are keen about holding a bachelorette party here, ESPA has packages ready for you. Plus, your girlfriends will love you for it. All the bachelorette party packages include a 30-minute hands, feet or back and neck treatment for all guests, plus complimentary mocktails, canapés and use of all spa facilities mentioned in my earlier post.

If, like me, you prefer a more substantial menu for your guests, arrangements can be made with Tangerine – the spa café that specialises in healthy but scrumptious food.

[Please note that Tangerine has refreshed its menu since February 2014. The following dish will not be available with the new menu.] My favourite is the Lemongrass Jelly and Wild Forest Berries in Chilled Coconut, which is refreshing, light and perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Healthy at Tangerine also means tasty.

If an afternoon of Tai-Tai lifestyle while catching up and thinking of ideas with your best pals is your ideal respite before the big day, ESPA’s perfect for you. If I could only turn back the clock…

As an aside, I’ve heard that some organisers holding a seminar or meeting at the Convention Centre have treated their delegates to a quick power massage at ESPA during breaks. This is great because, having attended full day seminars before, I know it’s almost impossible to keep my eyes open after lunch. Instead of the usual caffeine break in the afternoon, a short massage will definitely do wonders for my concentration.

There you have it: the best kept secrets of ESPA (see here for part 1). In my next post, find out what I learnt about iridology at my session with naturopath Tiffany Wee, who is also the only resident naturopath in a Singapore spa. Insight into my health by analysing my iris? I can’t wait.
