With Travis Knight (of Kubo and the Two Strings fame) in the director’s seat, we can’t wait to see how new characters (specifically the female lead Charlie played by Hailee Steinfeld) and fresh perspectives will add that breath of fresh air the franchise needs.
Meanwhile, here are 7 things to know about this black-and-yellow Autobot (if you aren’t already a fan) before his eponymous movie hits the big screens in Singapore on 20 December 2018. Transformers bumblebee the movie
1. He was among the original Autobots
Bumblebee was one of the original Autobots who came to Earth in the 1984 Transformers animated series. In fact, he holds the distinction of being the second character to appear on-screen in the original animated series.
2. His first alternate form was a Volkswagen Beetle
Back in the 1980s, Bumblebee debuted in toys, comics, and the original cartoon series as a Volkswagen Beetle. He only took the alternate form of the Chevrolet Camaro in the live-action movies directed by Michael Bay.
This year, in the upcoming Bumblebee the movie which is set in the 1980s, the titular Autobot is back to its original guise of the VW Bug. Transformers bumblebee the movie
3. Small but brave
Bumblebee is an Autobot scout and one of Optimus Prime’s most trusted lieutenants. What he lacks in size, he makes up for with determination, bravery and loyalty. Plus, his smaller physique allows him to go to places his larger comrades cannot. Transformers bumblebee movie
4. He saved the world
In the previous sequel Transformers: The Last Knight, it was Bumblebee who struck the final blow to Quintessa, and saved the world at the end of the film.
5. He will fight alongside you in TRANSFORMERS The Ride
TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle at Universal Studios Singapore is the world’s first theme park attraction based on the popular franchise, and with Michael Bay serving as the ride’s creative consultant.
In this 4-minute epic motion thrill ride, you’ll be transported into the TRANSFORMERS universe as new recruits of NEST.
