From 27 to 30 September 2018, Resorts World Sentosa was teeming with foodies from the region as they gathered together for the
second edition of The GREAT Food Festival (TGFF). Guests were treated to over 40 new/signature dishes by celebrity chefs at Star Chef Arena, and spoilt for choice at Rollin’ Sweet Times, Asia’s largest consumer dessert and pastry showcase. There was also a ton of photo opportunities at TGFF 2018, be it with their favourite celebrity chefs, photogenic desserts or Insta-worthy backdrops. Here are some of our favourite TGFF 2018 highlights.
One of the things we love about TGFF is that it creates opportunities for fast-rising prodigies like dessert chef Joe Leong (centre) to meet and cook alongside many world renown veteran chefs like Susur Lee (left) and Hal Yamashita (right).
Dutch celebrity chef Richard Van Oostenbrugge speaking at TGFF 2018’s media launch on table65, his new restaurant set to open at Resorts World Sentosa in December 2018.
Star Chef Arena’s tentage at the Bull Ring exuding some serious festival vibes. In fact, many passers-by were rather intrigued and ended up getting their tickets on-site.
Guests making their rounds at Star Chef Arena, in hopes of sampling as many dishes as possible.
But first, a photo for the gram. Featuring Crab Cake Sliders by Cat Cora, the first female inducted into the American Academy of Chefs Culinary Hall of Fame.
Canadian celebrity chef Susur Lee’s (best known to most Singaporeans as Founder of Tung Lok Heen) mouth-watering fusion dishes at TGFF 2018: Singapore Chili Crab Sakura Ebi Spring Onion Pancake, Roasted Irish Duck and Braised Foie Gras Bun, Pan-fried Organic Kurobuta Pork.
Japanese celebrity chef, voted 50 best chefs in Tokyo, gladly posing for photos.
The décor at Rollin’ Sweet Times instantly transporting guests to a fairytale. This walkway littered with fairy lights was one of our favourites.
Rainbow City, the VIP lounge area, another extremely Insta-worthy backdrop at TGFF 2018. Check out some of the shots that our guests took at #TGFF2018.
Terrarium by Insta-famous baker Andres Fatso ( @bakedbyandres). We can definitely see why one guest commented that this was the most Instagrammable dessert at TGFF 2018.
One of our team’s personal favourites: Philip Khoury’s Date Caramel Tart. Words can’t describe the saccharine pleasure it brings, but ‘perfection’ would be just about right *drools*.
Matt Adlard, conducting a dessert masterclass at Rollin’ Sweet Times. For the ladies, it was a question of which was sweeter: the cakes they were learning to bake, or having the @toplessbaker teach them to do so.
But really, can we blame them for getting distracted?
Ending off each night chilling out at Tanqueray Citrus Terrace, Asia’s first-ever customized thematic gin garden, conceptualized by Diageo World Class Bars.
Thank you to one and all for making the event a success. Until next time!
