Mala Turkey Leg from Universal Studios Singapore
The fan-favourite Turkey Leg from Marilyn’s…Has Great Legs food truck has a spicy sibling: Mala-flavoured Turkey Leg ($14).
Members enjoy 3% rebate.
Mala (which means “numb and hot” in Mandarin) sauce is a spicy oil with Sichuan peppercorns, chili pepper and spices. This spicy sauce is slathered on skin of the 20-cm long roasted turkey leg.
At first bite, your lips and tongue will go numb from the sauce– an addictive sensation. The spicy level of the mala sauce is minimal so even if you’re not a fan of chilli, you can still enjoy this.
The turkey meat is dark and smokey. It’s chewier than chicken meat and is surprisingly flavoured–perhaps from the brine it was marinated in.
Because of its size, you might need to share the turkey leg with someone else or you’ll feel too full to enjoy the other food at USS.
Find it at Marilyn’s …Has Great Legs food truck next to Hollywood China Bistro. Admission to Universal Studios Singapore required.
