“Every day’s my cheat day, you know what I mean?” Those were the words that made Ariana Grande’s impression of Jennifer Lawrence on Saturday Night Live go viral early last year. Unfortunately, we can’t all be like JLaw (or at least Ariana’s version of her) – we’ve got to watch our diets and count our calories if we want to stay in shape.
But with The GREAT Food Festival coming up from 21 to 24 September 2017, I’ll be working out extra hard because there’s no way I’m going to miss out on these 10 delectable desserts from The GREAT Food Festival’s Rollin’ Sweet Times segment no matter how many calories they’re going to cost me – neither should you. Did I mention they’re extremely photogenic too?
1. GlowNuts by Chris Thé
I couldn’t believe it either, but they’re exactly what you think they are: glow-in-the-dark donuts. In anticipation of your next question, yes – dinner sessions of The GREAT Food Festival are on till 10pm every night, so you’ll be able to snap a shot of Chris Thé’s next-level-hipster dessert in the dark.
2. Unicorn Cupcakes by Creme Maison
This is your childhood fairy tale made edible. Made of Earl Grey lavender cupcakes, fresh buttercream and fondant horns, these bite-size Unicorn Cupcakes by Creme Maison are as appealing to the palate as they are to the eye.
3. Matcha Domecakes by Andres Fatso
Comprising Matcha mousse, Matcha ganache and a crumb base, Matcha lovers won’t want to miss out on these Keroppi-themed Domecakes by the insta-famous Andres Fatso. They may look too kawaii to eat, but you definitely won’t regret taking your first bite (just be sure to take enough photos before doing so).
4. L’ÉCLAIR by Sarah Michelle
If you’re going for something classically elegant, L’ÉCLAIR by Sarah Michelle will certainly not disappoint. Whether it’s dark chocolate, Ispahan, Salted Caramel or Orelys, every éclair is specially handcrafted with the utmost patience and precision, perfect in every bite.
5. Amazing Frozen by Kenny Kong
Driven by the pursuit of uncompromised beauty and style in dessert, Amazing Frozen by the award-winning Chef Kenny Kong is a tower of frozen delights centered on a candy floss light stick sure to fascinate both the young and young at heart.

7. Mao Shan Wang Durian Cheesecake by Cat and the Fiddle
Embodying the spirit of bringing international flavours together, this Mao Shan Wang Durian Cheesecake by Cat and the Fiddle marries the Singaporean’s love for durians with that of the classic New York Cheesecake. What better way to pay homage to the King of the fruits?
8. Berry Delight by Clifford Luu
This gorgeous cake by Clifford Luu is just as much sculpture as it is cake. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Vera Wang ever decided to model a couture wedding gown after it. 9. Mermaid Tears by The Talad Drink
Okay, this isn’t exactly a dessert, but you’d probably want a drink after trying all these delectable desserts. Made using fruit extracts, this kiwi and lime drink by The Talad Drink sure makes for one heck of a visually enticing photo whether shaken or not. No mermaids were harmed in the making.
10. N2 Extreme Gelato
N2 Extreme Gelato was all the buzz when I visited various states in Australia. This is where science meets food to bring you avant garde intense, creamy gelato that is at once delectable and hipster. Watch the video above to see how liquid nitrogen is used to form microscopic ice crystals in just seconds!
