RWScoop: Hey Benjamin, you’ve been with Resorts World Sentosa for about 7 years – tell us more about your experience!
Benjamin: How time flies – I started out as a part-time crew member at the Revenge of the Mummy ride at Universal Studios Singapore. A year and a half later, I moved on to Aquatic Safety, where I became a full-time lifeguard for 3 years, and subsequently progressed to a Lead. Next, I took on the role of a Team Manager at Consumer Insights Team for close to 2 years before assuming my current role as a Training Executive with the Attraction Training & Development (AT&D) team.
RWScoop: What’s your current role like?
Benjamin: At AT&D, I conduct various training courses. Apart from that, I’m currently in the Service Development team, which focuses on enhancing the service of our Attractions. Since I’ve joined AT&D, I’ve also been given the opportunity to take on various projects.
RWScoop: Do you feel like you’ve grown professionally with Resorts World Sentosa?
Benjamin: I have, definitely. Over the years, I have learnt the importance to be proactive in handling my own portfolio. My experience in various departments has helped me to pick up different skills and knowledge that has aided in my career advancement.
RWScoop: What are your thoughts on career growth at RWS?
Benjamin: RWS is a very good stepping stone for anyone – the company provides good career progression, and allows employees to pick up skill sets and knowledge that are beyond their primary role.
