It is Singapore’s only underwater restaurant. Against a backdrop of schools of fish, sharks and manta rays, cocooned as you are by the waters of S.E.A. Aquarium, the Ocean Restaurant is probably a restaurant that attracts diners as much for its ambience, as it does its food.
The restaurant is comfortable playing host to couples on a romantic night out, for families hoping to engage their curious kids, or old friends looking to while a quiet evening chatting away. It has witnessed a couple of marriage proposals as well!
The menu is regularly refreshed to capture the produce of the seasons. We take a dive through some of the new introductions to its lunch and dinner menus for the latter part of 2016.

Highlights from the menu are:

Tastes much milder than original beef tartare, the dish has the sweetness of the shrimp and the tanginess of the salsa and yuzu-soy reduction.

A favourite at Ocean Restaurant. The lightly grilled barramundi is firm and served with a healthy serving of vegetables with spicy green pepper juice.

The buttery-smooth texture of foie gras is wrapped in a crispy coat. The crunchy toppings give it an additional layer of texture.

Ocean Restaurant’s signature dish. The salmon–cooked in a bath of warm water–retains its nutrition and melts in your mouth.

End your meal on a sweet note. The roasting of the peach enhances its sweetness. The sweet buttermilk sago and other toppings gives it a distinctly Asian taste.

For the best view in Ocean Restaurant
The best seats at Ocean Restaurant are by the glass panels as you’ll be able to peer down to see the sea bed. If you want these coveted seats, reserve your table at least two weeks in advance.
The restaurant is busiest during the weekends. For a higher chance of getting great seats, book your table for a weekday visit.
But even if you can’t get the tables, you’ll still be able to watch the schools of fish swim by from other spots in the restaurant. If you’re sitting with your back to the glass panels, there are mirrors on the wall to reflect the view.
