Some things in life are worth celebrating; birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, or even friendships. In Resorts World Sentosa, there is a place for almost every occasion. We dug up some cool ideas for celebrating your special day with that special group of people, starting with:
Ah, the proverbial step into adulthood and the stripping of any excuse for childishness. While our first thought was a rocking stay-over at a Hard Rock Hotel suite, we found an alternative – Universal Studios Singapore®, specifically Mel’s Drive-In. Like the quintessential childhood McDonald’s birthday party, Mel’s Drive-In can actually be booked for your party; just ask our M.I.C.E. team at 6577 9977 and firstname.lastname@example.org. In fact, most of our venues are available for booking. Flip through the M.I.C.E. brochure for more information.
What to expect: a 50s themed party with drive in nosh like chilli cheese fries, its signature Shiok Burger, and gallons of milkshake. And friends bedecked in retro-style gear ala Hairspray.
If you’re nowhere near adulthood, a day at the Adventure Cove Waterpark™ is a fantastic way to splash into your 7th (or 17th, even 70th) year as a kid. Don your wetsuits and take on the Riptide Rocket or float leisurely down the Adventure River. Kids (12 years and below) get in for $20 (but $29 for mummy, daddy, and assorted adults).
What to expect: Hours of soaking fun in the sun and a healthy tan to go with it – provided it doesn’t rain. Also, bring mummy and daddy along, because there are height restrictions for some rides (usually at 122 cm) which require an accompanying adult. Read more about the rides and height restrictions here.
The big day
No, not the day you get fatter (excuse the joke), but the day you get hitched. Whether it’s a wedding or a simple solemnization ceremony, the Resort offers a pretty impressive array of venues to host your special occasion.
The best part? You don’t even have to deal with the nitty gritty logistical issues yourself, because a dedicated wedding team will assist you from your decision making till you crash back in your hotel room at the end of your ceremony. Call 6577 9977 or email@example.com to get your plans in motion.
What to expect: An intimate garden solemnization ceremony with bright white tentages accentuated by lush greenery. Or a huge wedding ceremony that can accommodate up to 4,000 guests at the Compass Ballroom. Flip through the wedding brochures here.
You’ve been with your other half for the better part of 10 years, perhaps 20. And despite the silences, occasional quarrels, and, browbeating to do certain household chores, you love each other. And for just one special day, you’d like to bring your other half out for a nice, posh date. Don your best clothes and dine at Joel Robuchon Restaurant, where it doesn’t get any posh-er than cuisine whipped up by a team that has garnered 24 Michelin stars across the globe.
What to expect: We’re no expert at posh eats, so we say go for the 14-course degustation menu, which is essentially a discovery menu so you can try everything. While it’s a little hefty on the wallet (price starts at $565), it’s your anniversary after all. Expect the meal to stretch over two hours, where you two can indulge in conversation and be introduced to each dish by your experienced server. If you decide to go the whole razzmatazz and throw in the special eight glasses of wine to complete your menu (at $258), remember not to drive. Make reservations at 6577 7888 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
An alternative to painting the town red with your girlfriends is painting your nails red; even better if you can do it in the lounging comfort of ESPA’s Finishing Studio, under the delicate and professional care of ESPA therapists.
What to expect: comfy interiors, attentive service, cocktails, relaxing music, quality chat time, and gorgeous nails, hands and feet before the big day. Opt to give the bride-to-be an additional massage to calm and rejuvenate her before her walk down the aisle. ESPA prides itself on delivering customized service, so give them a ring at 6577 8880 or email@example.com.
