After seeing the bold splashes of colour on display at the Halloween Horror Nights 2 audition, we realised there is a lot more to wearing makeup than a mere swipe of mascara or a measly dash of brown eyeshadow. Here are three tips we picked up.
Makeup is an art – your face is the canvas and sometimes a blank canvas isn’t pleasing to the eye. The last time we checked, people wear makeup to appear more attractive, confident, likeable and trustworthy. That is, if you believe that makeup has a significant impact on how one is perceived.
1. You can’t go wrong with black and white
Life is not always black and white but you can definitely count on the classic combination to look chic. Complete the look with a scowl and you’d be the talk of the town in no time. Oh, you may want to consider accessorising with a bug on your cheek.
2. Make every day a red letter day
Red, the colour of blood, symbolises strong emotions. Be it excitement, passion, danger or aggression – trust this sensual colour to leave a lasting impression. Use sparingly for dramatic effect. With a dreamy, faraway look in your eyes, stare into space to look possessed.
3. Let your hair down
No time to put on elaborate makeup to astonish your audiences? Relax, let loose and unleash those locks. All you need to do is to apply some foundation and allow the long strands of hair to cover your face. Jet-black hair, in our opinion, works best.
