Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights 5 (HHN5) starts this Friday. Get ready for fourteen nights of terror.
Here are some tips to bear in mind to make your night with us a screamtastic one.
1. Learn the background story of the houses and zones
Know the background story of our four haunted houses and three scare zones to get into the mood.
The haunted houses at HHN5 are True Singapore Ghost Stories: The MRT, Siloso Gateway Block 50, Hell House and Tunnel People.
The scare zones at HHN5 are The Invaders, conTERMINATED and Hungry Ghosts.
2. Kill time in queues with USSHHN5 mobile game
Ever wanted to experience HHN’s haunted houses on your phone? The USSHHN5 games does just that. Fight off evil ghouls from the different haunted houses on your mobile device.
It’s also useful to play the game while you’re queuing. The Android version of the USSHHN5 game is available on Google Play now while the iOS version will be out soon.
3. Bring the most important accessory for the night…
Your power bank! You’ll need your phone for photo-ops in our scare zones. Strike a pose next to aliens, deformed residents of a quarantine zone, and ghosts of Chinese villagers.
4. Thrill to the world’s tallest roller coasters after dark
Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON will be taking to the night skies for the first time since its return. Other rides like Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey and TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle are also open.
5. Come as you are, sans costume and mask – with one exception
Yes, you may wear a haze protection mask/respirator to the event. However, it should be placed in the lockers along with other loose articles before you hop on Revenge of the Mummy and Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON.
6. Have a drink with supernatural being
Located in Ancient Egypt, the Beast Club is an out-of-this-world bar where you imbibe intoxicating beverages alongside all kinds of ghouls, demons and freaks.
7. Beat the heat

Just because this is an after-dark event, doesn’t mean you’ll be spared the humidity and heat. Dress lightly with comfortable shoes for walking. Water may be sprayed at you at one haunted house, and another has squishy floors and dank walls – so consider yourself warned!
8. Catch the Opening Scaremony
Don’t miss the Opening Scaremony. It starts at 7.30pm on event nights, next to Lake Hollywood and is a show telling you why all hell broke loose for Halloween Horror Nights 5.
If you don’t care about the story, you may want to be there to at least catch the pyrotechnics. Or you could beeline to your favourite scare attraction to be the first one in queue. If you miss the Scaremony the first time, you’ll have to come again on another night.
9. Pick up the 2015 Survival Guide
Conveniently located everywhere throughout the park, it’s a handy reference for everything you need to know about the event: the haunted houses, the scare zones, the map, the food and the merchandise.
10. Save your children from nightmares

Put them under the care of Kids Club (located at Hard Rock Hotel), which will be extending its operating hours for the event. Present Halloween Horror Nights 5 ticket to enjoy the preferential rate of S$8 per hour, for children aged 3 to 12.
- On 2, 3, 9, 11, 18, 25 and 29 October, Kids Club is open from 10am to 1am.
- On 10, 16, 17, 23,24,30 and 31 October, Kids Club is open from 10am to 2am.
11. Investing in a Halloween Horror Nights Express
Tickets for this year are selling much faster than the last, and prices of Halloween Horror Nights Express for many dates have already risen above S$50. If you intend to purchase, do it now before prices rise further.
12. Respecting the scare-actors

Deafening them with your screams is enough, let’s not get physical. No matter how close our scare-actors come up to you, rest assured they will never come into actual contact under any circumstances.
13. Getting home after the event
The RWS8 bus will be running until 3.30am, and will drop you outside VivoCity/HarbourFront. There should be a steady stream of taxis available too.
You can also use the GrabTaxi app at our Resort with the “GRABRWS” promo code and you’ll get a S$3 discount. Here are more GrabTaxi promotions.
