[FOOD] World Gourmet Summit returns this April

WGS 2013 at Resorts World Sentosa

The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) 2013 is back in town this 16 – 27* April. And for gourmands, there’s no better time to block out your calendar, for dates with Michelin-starred chefs right in your backyard. Singapore is quite small after all.

As the official premium hospitality partner for WGS 2013, Resorts World Sentosa will be hosting some of the events here in our restaurants, including one at our latest attraction, S.E.A. Aquarium.

Present will be notable names in the F&B industry, like Michelin-starred chefs Rodrigo de la Calle and David Munoz, alongside our own award-winning chefs Scott Webster, Sam Leong and Douglas Tay.

*27 April is a special day for wine connoisseurs, with two masterclasses and a dinner organised in conjunction with WGS.

17 – 20 April, Gastrobotany delights at Osia

Rodrigo de la Calle

One Michelin-starred chef Rodrigo de la Calle will partner chefs Scott Webster and Douglas Tay to showcase a unique cuisine – Gastrobotany. Specially created for WGS, vegetables and healthy greens take centre stage on a simple white plate while meats become garnishes for enhanced taste. Great if you enjoy greens with a creative twist.

22 – 25 April, Chinese take on Spanish classics at Forest 森

David Munoz

David Munoz has earned a name for himself, and with good reason. One of the youngest two-Michelin star chefs around, his dishes surprise with their blend of Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Mexican influences. Try his Chinese take on Spanish classics, beautifully created for WGS.

27 April, Bordeaux Rendez Vous 2013 Masterclasses Tasting Vintage

Beychevelle 2010

Wine connoisseurs, this one’s for you. Meet 26 Bordeaux wine producers and better yet, taste all 26 Bordeaux wines before deciding which one to buy for future drinking pleasure. Set in the luxe and relaxing Equarius Hotel, sip on a glass of red while the wine producers present their recent 2010 vintage collection and share insights on wine production.

27 April, Bordeaux Rendez Vous 2013 Wine Dinner

Presented by Resorts World Sentosa and Barriere Freres (the commercial arm of the owner of Château Beychevelle and Château Beaumont) in conjunction with WGS 2013, this is a night to wine and dine. Taste 2003 vintage wines from 26 Chateaux from Bordeaux over a 4-course dinner.  Each producer will  introduce their wines and answer questions.  The dinner will be officiated with a traditional Commandarie de Bordeaux march-in, where knights will welcome you before dinner commences.
