How many of us can say that we’ve contributed a culinary creation to a restaurant at the tender age of 17? Not many, we wager, but the winner of episode 3 of The Big Break can say she has done so, and with pride. We give a quick recap of the episode and take a look at the burger that she has created for Mel’s Drive-In at Universal Studios Singapore® – and also, how you can win some goodies.
For this week at Mel’s Drive-In, the contestants learnt how to create the perfect gourmet burger with Chef Samuel Foo; with the latter’s demonstration on how to make his own hot-selling creation, the “Shiok” Burger. The contestants then took to the streets (literally) and set about whipping up their own power patties.
The ultimate prize? The winner’s burger would be sold at Mel’s Drive-In for a month, from now till 31 December – yes, the exact recipe will be used. Nothing screams “awesome burger” than recognition in the form of a placement on a restaurant’s menu list!
An intense 40 minutes of cooking later, two winners were picked; but only one burger made it onto the menu.
Introducing “Big Momma Burger” by contestant Biula – a unique mix of barbecue and black pepper sauce infused into the juicy beef patty, resulting in an earthy, smoky kick that warms your mouth. At S$13.80, you get a combo meal with the burger, fries and a drink. Thumbs-up to Biula for doing such a good job on her first ever burger creation!
Now, how would you like to win something as well? Simply go on to Resorts World™ Sentosa’s Facebook page and answer a question from each episode every week. You stand a chance to win prizes from Asian Food Channel (AFC) and Resorts World™ Sentosa.
