[FOOD]: Gastronomic Grand Opening promotions

The Bay Restaurant - Oven Baked Spring Chicken
The Bay Restaurant Oven Baked Half Spring Chicken at $10.90

Our resort’s grand opening on 7 December is barely three weeks away and we’re celebrating it the quintessential Singaporean way – with food, food, and more food. From authentic Tuscan treats to contemporary Chinese cuisine and to humbly-rich hawker fare, we sussed out 7 attractive food promotions happening resort wide from now till 15 December. We start with our two new restaurants from our new attraction the Marine Life Park.

1. For chicken goodness at The Bay Restaurant (above)

Right next to the Rainbow Reef Pool in Adventure Cove Waterpark lies newly opened two-storey The Bay Restaurant. A day out at the water theme park can be draining so fuel up by digging into this aromatic and tender half spring chicken. Baked to a lightly crisp golden brown, topped with savoury gravy and served with carrots, purple potato mash and assorted grilled vegetables, it’s a complete meal that’s lip-smackingly good.

2. For international flavours at Ocean Restaurant

Ocean Restaurant - Pan-Roasted Barramundi with Lobster Sauce
Pan-Roasted Barramundi with Lobster Sauce, of the 3-Course Special Menu at $35++

Do it like Spongebob Squarepants and have your meal under the sea – while staying dry of course. The Ocean Restaurant is adjacent to the Ocean Gallery, so watch rays and sharks swim right past your tables as you tuck into a fancy Grand Opening 3-course set menu. Start with Grilled Ocean Shrimps and Oriental Salad with refreshing Yuzu dressing. For mains, choose between a Chargrilled Rib Eye Steak or the Pan-Roasted Barramundi with Lobster Sauce. End the meal on a sweet note with the refreshing Raspberry & Yogurt “Pearl”.  Just don’t get too distracted by the manta ray swimming in front of you.

3. For a 3-course treat at a happy price

KT's Grill - Herb Crust Salmon Fillet
Herb Crust Salmon Fillet, of the 3-course set meal at $29.80++

Theme park food isn’t always hotdogs, Churros, burgers and pizzas. KT’s Grill is proof of that; opulent Victorian-era interiors with velvet drapes, lush seating, warm ambience and most importantly, an equally luxurious menu to match. All sitting cosily at Universal Studios Singapore®’s (USS) New York zone.

The special Grand Opening 3-course set meal kicks off to a promising start with a Lobster Bisque with Alaskan Crabmeat. Choose from either the Herb Crust Salmon Fillet or the Char-grilled Cajun Spiced Half Chicken for your mains. Polish off your meal with a delightfully quaint KT’s Reese Peanut Butter Pie – just about the only thing that will remind you that you are at a theme park.

4. For a cooking demonstration and a hearty dinner

Live cooking demonstrations whet appetites; this much is true for anyone who’s ever been to one. Martinis are aperitifs and whet appetites too. Put them together and you’ll get a formula for a pretty hungry bunch of people. Chef Sam Leong and his wife Chef Forest know this so they’ve thrown in a 4-course set dinner to sate hungry tummies.

Forest 森- Chawanmushi with Hokkaido Scallop
Chawanmushi with Hokkaido Scallop, of the cooking demonstration and 4-course set dinner at $198 nett

On 4 and 5 December (Tuesday and Wednesday evening) at Forest 森 at Equarius Hotel, watch the two chefs host a live canapé cooking demonstration while you sip on a glass of Lychee Martini before a hearty 4-course dinner. Served with a glass of Penfolds “Private Release” Chardonnay, sink your teeth into smooth, silky steamed egg chawanmushi with fresh Hokkaido Scallop. And crunch into Wok-fried Crispy Duck Pressed Confit and Yam with flavourful mushroom sauce.

5. For Italian fare that sparkles – literally

Palio - Gold Risotto with Lobster
Gold Risotto with Lobster, of the 3-course set dinner at $78++

Get your true blue Italian fix at Palio. Ultimate indulgence comes in the form of the Classic Carnaroli Risotto in Squid Ink sauce sprinkled with gold dust accompanied with Boston lobster. Polish off the gold rush with Palio’s signature soft and fluffy tiramisu cake – very light with the right balance of flavours.

6. For fickle-minded all-you-can-eaters

Starz - Buffet Spread
Grand Opening buffet dinner at $55++ (Sun-Thurs) and $68++ (Fri-Sat)

If you still cannot make up your mind on what to eat, we say settle for Starz’ International Buffet at Hard Rock Hotel to get a taste of everything. The special Grand Opening buffet spread features a large selection of fresh seafood, barbeque roasted suckling pig and Singapore-style chilli crab with thick and creamy gravy. Wash it down with a new creation – icy cold coca-cola sorbet.

7. For icy goodness that warms the heart

 Chendol at Malaysian Food Street

It’s simple – Penang Chendol from Malaysian Food Street at $2.00 a bowl. Till 15 December.
