It is that time of the year again for giving, sharing, and feasting like there’s no tomorrow. To make sure that your taste buds are happy and your tummies are full to bursting, the Resort’s chefs have put on their collective thinking caps and created a range of Christmas goodies, pastries and savoury hampers (Tom Yum Roasted Turkey, anyone?) that you can take home.
We went on a feasting rampage and bring you a list of our top Christmas picks.
At Joël Robuchon Restaurant
For the first time ever, Joël Robuchon Restaurant is launching two novel Bûche de Noëls a.k.a. French Yule log cakes.
If you enjoy smooth and rich chocolate with a subtle hint of citrus, Pastry Chef Antonio Benites has this winning ticket. Ténue de Soirée is a gem with rich, velvety smooth Araguani chocolate mousse gussied with lemon zest. The crunchy layer of biscuits infused with Yuzu cleverly crafted into this winning piece adds a contrasting texture to the silky chocolate.
If you prefer something light and fruity, Tutti Frutti might be a better alternative. A combination of coconut, exotic fruits compote, light whipped cream infused with roasted banana and passionfruit, the entire creation is covered with a velvety layer of white chocolate snow. We like that it melts daintily in our mouth.
Both cakes make such pretty centre-pieces that we felt it was a shame cutting into them.
How do I get them?

Pastry Chef Kenny Kong and his team of pâtissiers at Boulangerie have a soft spot for Christmas creations with a twist. One of our favourites is the luxurious “Symphony” Red Fruits Yule Log – golden strawberry swiss roll infused with zingy Melba Jelly and almond crumble biscuit. Blanketed by an exquisite layer of Ivory Vanilla Supreme cream, it is soft and fluffy on the inside with a light strawberry fragrance.
If you love coffee, however, Musical Opera-Pistachio & Amarena Cherry might just be the one for you. Made with layers of pistachio almond sponge cake, the kick is in the infusion of coffee syrup and stacks of ganache and coffee buttercream. The white chocolate on top seals the deal for us with its solid texture.
If you have a sweet tooth or if your children need some coddling, you might want to get the Melody of Macaroon. Made up of six differenty flavoured macaroons (Orange, Lemon, Raspberry, Coffee, Earl Grey, and Chocolate), it works as another great table centre piece with the star-shaped white chocolate Christmas Tree. It’s also peppered with miniature sugar Santas and chocolate guitars which we think might make their way into the kids’ lego set after the macaroons are gobbled up.
The year-end feasting is usually cause for health nuts to worry. Here’s a cake that might alleviate some of the binge-guilt. Infused with assorted nuts, walnuts, almonds and cherries, Boulangerie’s Old Fashioned Nutty Fruit Cake is – at least in our opinion – healthier than the other syrup-soaked varieties. Chewy, dense, and oh-so-fragrant, it’s best eaten with the small topping of the vanilla cream on top, so resist the temptation to scrape the cream away.

At KT’s Grill (Universal Studios Singapore®)
Christmas Turkey with a spicy Asian twist – we absolutely drooled at the sight. The KT’s Grill Tom Yum turkey is great for nice, warm Christmas dinners at home, or even for cosy pot-luck sessions. It’s generously accompanied with Thai Eggplants, Thai roasted potatoes, and char-grilled corn on the cob. The spices aren’t overwhelming and something about Turkey accentuates the flavours of the spices. We like that it’s tender and cuts easily, so don’t worry about a messy carving session.
How do I get it?
