What a difference a year makes.
Since its inception in July last year, ESPA at Resorts World Sentosa has transformed into an award-winning destination spa.
But don’t just take it from us. Its awards and accolades range from international awards like the Spa Finder 2012 Reader’s Choice Awards, 2012 AsiaSpa Awards and 2013 World Luxury Spa Awards to local ones presented by Singapore Harper’s Bazaar and Women’s Weekly.
With soothing spa treatments and world class facilities set in a lush environment, it’s little wonder that ESPA has swept so many awards. In addition, there is a Zen Studio for yogis and even a gymnasium for the fitness buffs. Indeed, it is common to see guests spending the whole day there, having a little me time.
Here are five things you must do when you are at ESPA.
Go dipping with your loved ones in the Forest Onsen-style pools
With the mixed gender Japanese-inspired Forest Onsen Pools, this is your perfect chance for a little quiet time with your partner while surrounded by nature. Just lean back and relax while we bring Japan to you.
Have a feast at Tangerine
From January 2015, Celebrity Chef Ian Kittachai has taken over the reigns as Tangerine’s Consultant Chef. He brings with him Asian and Western culinary inspirations to rejuvenate Tangerine’s menu, while retaining the restaurant’s philosophy of light, healthy and wholesome food.
Experience a Hammam ritual
The Hamman Ritual is a traditional cleansing ritual designed to revitalize the mind and body. A first of its kind in Singapore, experience the relaxing process in a large and airy chamber, coupled with facilities like a full sized scrub plinth, oversized rain showers and a steam room with ergonomically designed benches. Don’t be alarmed when the therapist starts splashing water onto you, it’s just part of the routine and helps blood circulation.
Go for a soothing massage
A spa retreat isn’t complete without a stress-relieving massage. The ESPA Time is recommended for first timers. Let the expert therapists recommend and personalise the most suitable treatment for you. Or if you spend hours in front of the computer, opt for a shoulder massage to ease the knots.
Have a snooze fest
Feeling sleepy after a massage? End of the day with a quick shut-eye at one of the 18 sleeping pods, which are similar to first class seats on the airplane, in the Sleep Zone. Personally, this one is our favourite.
