When I was a kid, I thought Santa Claus wasn’t good at his job.
That would explain why I kept getting presents that weren’t on my letters to Santa despite being a good kid for most of the year. (I use “most” loosely.)
Even though now that I know Santa Claus doesn’t exist, I still like writing items to my wish list and it just keeps getting longer and longer.
If you also have an ever-growing wish list, here are more items you can add to it.
For the young-at-heart (or actual toddlers)
34-inch Sesame Street Take-Along Buddy ($99.90)
Where: Universal Studios Singapore’s Universal Store or The Brown Derby
If you love snuggling up to soft toys (no shame in that), you’ll adore these huggable Sesame Street plushes.
Unlike usual cute little toys, these Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and Elmo plushes are huge at 34 inches. It’s even larger than the tiny toddler I saw cooing at them at The Brown Derby.
They’re also made of machine-washable materials so you can chuck them into the washing machine when they get dirty.
For the traveller
Minions carry-on suitcase ($149)
Where: Universal Studios Singapore’s Minions Store
Travelling with only one carry-on is the way to go. Not only will you get to leave the airport early–no waiting at the conveyor belt, there’s no worry of your luggage going missing.
You’ll be the envy of the airport when you roll along with these simple but cute Minion suitcases. The hard covers mean the delicate items in your bags are protected.
For the fashionista: Bling Guitar Charm Earrings ($26)
Where: Hard Rock Hotel’s The Rock Shop
These guitar charm earrings will turn anybody’s head. They’re adorned with so much bling you’ll shine like Edward Cullen when you’re under the sun (and even artificial light).
For the LEGO enthusiast: LEGO 42056 Technics Porsche 911 GT3 RS ($549.90)
Where: LEGO Certified Store at Festive Hotel
LEGO lovers will know the joy of unboxing a new set of toy, the careful storage of the little LEGO pieces so they won’t go missing and the adrenaline of seeing the small pieces come together into what looks like the model on the box.
This limited edition LEGO set is available only at the five LEGO Certified Stores in Singapore.
For the workaholic: PADI open water dive ($548)
Where: S.E.A. Aquarium Open Ocean Habitat
If you can’t bear to part with your work and yet still want a diving licence, you’ll love this the PADI open water dive course at S.E.A. Aquarium.
You don’t need to travel out of Singapore to get your PADI open water dive licence. With actual dives spread over two weekends, you won’t even need to take time off to learn diving from certified PADI instructors.
As part of the course, you’ll get to dive inside S.E.A. Aquarium’s 12-metre deep Open Ocean Habitat and wave to the people on the other side of the glass.
If you manage to pass, you’ll get your shiny diving licence within weeks. You’ll be ready to dive overseas and use all those leave you’ve saved.
