Children for Children 2011 – A MEMA and USS special day out

Starting the day with anticipation: children making their way towards Maritime Experiential Museum.
Eager anticipation outside the museum
The magnificent Admiral Zheng He and his steadfast guard, brought to life by gutsy CHIJ Kellock students. Trust me, you will quell under their mighty gaze.
The first batch of students being transported back in time with an opening by our Admiral.
Young excited explorers along the silk route.
An introduction by friendly locals at each pitstop.
Steering ships along the silk route is no easy task; there are typhoons, tricky passageways, and even sea monsters
The story behind the perilous journey at the Typhoon Theatre builds anticipation, an ominous calm before a wet storm.
Outside, eager students flexed their artistic fingers as they made little knick knacks.

Guest of honour Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education, walking the silk route.
The minister making a traditional Chinese charm, with the help of students from CHIJ Kellock.

Plunging into a world of imagination and creativity; an inspired performance by CHIJ Kellock.
There is no better way of immersing yourself in the experience than to gamely wear your balloon hat and enjoy the show upfront.
The event also raised $300,000 for ChildAid, an annual children’s charity concert organized by Singapore Press Holdings.
