The new Korea-Singapore non-verbal show CHEF: Bibimbap vs Chilli Crab kicks off 10 June 2017. Singaporean twin starlets Hayley and Jayley Woo take turns to play Cutie Chef in this production run, alongside a team of Korean casts. It is the twins’ first live stage show.
They took some time off their busy preparation work to share about this new experience.
In preparing for CHEF, what is the most challenging thing for you?
Hayley: Singing those high pitch notes while still having cough.
Jayley: It’s the vocal part of the show. When it comes to the art of it, I feel practice makes perfect. However, because of the short prep time, we had to cram three months’ worth of training into one.
Which part of the preparations do you enjoy the most?
Hayley: Vocal training with unnie (Ko Eun Hee – Sexy Chef)! Very fun and skillset upgrading!
Jayley: Preparations for the dance steps and acting. I like being active on stage and being able to feel the entire space the stage offers.
You mentioned that being in K-pop/drama has been a dream for you. Who is your current idol, or who do you aspire to be like?
Hayley: My idols are Park Bo Gum and Yoona. I aspire to be like Eddie Peng.
Jayley: I’d say anyone from the 2nd generation of the Kpop idols, like SNSD or 2NE1. They are the ones that got me into K-pop and if not for them, I’d wouldn’t have opened my eyes up to another level of hard work in the performing arts.
