4 Battle Preparation Tips for TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con 2012

So you’re geared up and have been watching re-runs of all things TRANSFORMERS, practiced your action figure transformations and rehearsed your best Optimus voice. But do you really know what to do when you head down to Cybertron Con on March 11? Read on for some tips.

1. Panel sessions with Hideaki Yoke and Transformers brand experts from HASBRO

Hardcore fans, rejoice at this chance to find out all you ever wanted to know about the TRANSFORMERS series from inception to date – from the designers themselves. There’s no better venue to air your Transformers queries and puzzles. And yes, the early bird catches the worm.

Tip 1:
remember to pre-register at the event venue if you want to attend any of the panel sessions. There is a limit of 100 guests per panel session, so do book early to avoid disappointment! (No extra charges apply, strictly first-come-first-served)

Tip 2
there is an autograph session with Mr Hideaki Yoke (lead designer of Transformers from Takara) for the first 100 sets of Cybertron exclusives on the morning of March 11.

2. Snap, snap, snap

This is probably a no-brainer, but don’t forget to bring your camera. From extensive displays of TRANSFORMERS toys to special 3D action figure dioramas featuring popular scenes, there are many opportunities to wear out your camera’s battery life.

Tip 1:
Grab pictures with the Kreon mascots.

Life-sized or small enough to fit in your pocket, the Kreons make adorable photo-companions.

Tip 2:
The photo highlight will be a 22-foot (approximately 7 meters) tall OPTIMUS PRIME model; one of the largest TRANSFORMERS replicas ever. At that height, you’d probably be able to pose with OPTIMUS from a distance away, so no need to jostle with the crowd.

3. Be prepared to roll out

If you think you’re merely a spectator at the conference, think again. The many fringe activities will get you right in the thick of things.

Tip 1:
Think you have a quick mind and quicker fingers? Start exercising them because there will be a ‘Fastest Fingers First’ competition. Convert the TRANSFORMERS action figures from “robot” to “vehicle” mode in the shortest time to emerge the ultimate champion.

Tip 2:
If quick fingers are not your thing, but you’d like to train your artistic side, join the Transformers elementary drawing classes conducted by TRANSFORMERS designers. Say goodbye to strange proportions and impress your friends with your new-found drawing skillz.

No more noob drawings
None of this no more

4. The merchandise

What is a conference without goodies to bring home? Save some money to get your hands on some limited edition collectibles.

Tip 1:
The first 100 Cybertron Con Exclusive Optimus Prime sold will bear serial numbers 001 to 100; and as mentioned before, will be personally autographed by Hideaki Yoke.

Unfortunately, you cannot pick the serial number you like.

Tip 2
If you’re lucky (and early), you might receive limited edition 2012 TRANSFORMERS Cybertron Con souvenirs – while supplies last.
