5 spots to watch 2017 countdown fireworks up-close around Sentosa Island

How do you like to watch your fireworks? Far from the madding crowd or up-close and see the sparks right before your eyes?

If it’s the latter, we have five spots around Sentosa Island with great front-row view of fireworks display for the countdown to 2017.

At Universal Studios Singapore’s Dance in the Park!, Hollywood Lagoon and the attractions surrounding it will be lit up by pyrotechnics at the stroke of midnight of 1 January 2017.

Throughout the night of 31 December 2016, there’ll be LED Street acts and performances–stilt walkers decked in LED lights and performers while poi and water drums players dazzle you with their LED instruments.

Some of the rides are open all night. The outdoor rides–Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, Canopy Flyer, Battlestar Galactica and Enchanted Airways–give you a great view of the Park lit up at night so don’t miss them.

On the beach: Siloso Beach Party

At Siloso Beach Party, you’ll countdown with 10,000 party-goers and watch the fireworks burst out from behind the stage.

Touted as Singapore’s only beach countdown party, join other high-energy party goes for 12-hours of non-stop celebration. Highlights include local and international DJs spinning from dusk till dawn and a foam pool party.

 

On a hill: Faber Peak

If a firework is set off on top of a hill, will it shoot up higher than others? Find out at the top of Mount Faber.

Here, you can catch the firework display set off from Faber Peak Singapore. Book a table at Spuds & Aprons where the fireworks will appear right in front of the restaurant or celebrate at Faber Bistro.

The the Mount Faber Line of the Singapore Cable Car will extend operations until 1am on New Year Day. You can take it to Harborfront MRT Station for a separate transport back home.

Now here’s a special spot for a New Year countdown–in the air in the Singapore Cable Car.

Spend the last day of 2016 with friends or family in a cable car which fits up to six. At midnight, you’ll get a great view of the fireworks around Sentosa and beyond.

In case you’re hungry, dig into the sweet chocolate treat platter and pop the two bottles of champagne included in the package. There are only 30 cabins available so book them before they’re sold out.

Technically it’s not around Sentosa, the Tall Ship leaves from Resorts World Sentosa.

On the luxury tallship, you will enjoy free flow of drinks from the bar, champagne, canapés and pizzas. For entertainment, there’s live band Eddy Fleitas Del Sol playing, a magic show and a DJ spinning tunes.

At 10pm, the ship will sail to Marina Bay where at midnight, you’ll get a gorgeous view of the fireworks display.

 

Remember to reserve or buy your tickets to the countdown early so you don’t miss out.
