Some of you might be confused by this news; hasn’t the Resort been around since 2010? Yes it has, but by 7 December, the Resort will be fully opened and operational. This means that all its attractions including Universal Studios Singapore®, the Maritime Experiential Museum, and the highly anticipated Marine Life Park will be up and running, alongside all 6 hotels and over 60 F&B offerings.
More reasons to stay, we say. But we think the best part has got to be the weekend of celebrations to mark this occasion starting 7 December. We can’t give away too much yet, but we heard that there is going to be live public performances and a 12-minute fireworks display at the waterfront promenade.
Meanwhile, here’s a quick recap of the gems that our Resort has to offer.
1. The Marine Life Park, Universal Studios Singapore, Maritime Experiential Museum
With three uniquely different attractions, we daresay that we need at least three days to fully enjoy them all.
The latest attraction at the Resort, the Marine Life Park has two separate ticketed attractions: a wet experience at the Adventure Cove Waterpark and a dry one the S.E.A. Aquarium (Southeast Asia Aquarium, read as sea-Aquarium) . Collectively both attractions will make up the world’s largest oceanarium. The Adventure Cove Waterpark will be the region’s only water park with marine life elements, while the S.E.A. Aquarium will be the world’s biggest aquarium featuring over 100,000 animals including stars such as manta rays and hammerhead sharks. Read more at the Marine Life Park blog.
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) remains an all-time favourite. We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new ride – those of you who have been to the park recently might have a vague idea of what it is. In the meantime, visiting the park is sweeter with a 24% discount on USS ticket prices when you purchase using Mastercard from now till 16 November 2012.
And nothing calms us down like a pensive journey along the silk route at the Maritime Experiential Museum. Don’t forget to snap a shot or two of the famed dhow, the Jewel of Muscat. And once your journey has ended, bring your weary sea-legs to the Fish and Crab Shack where you will have a selection of sea-faring eats. And egg tarts.
2. Relax at ESPA
Judging by one of our colleague’s review of ESPA, we’re really missing out since we have not experienced the pleasure of any one of their treatments. Like the Hammam rituals. Energy balancing body treatments. Or even personalized massages. Maybe we’ll take up the limited time ESPA Indulgence for Two package: inclusive of a champagne lunch at the ESPA dining outlet Tangerine and a one night stay at selected hotels.
3. 6 Unique Hotel Experiences
Speaking of hotels, Resorts World Sentosa’s six different hotels have unique offerings for visitors looking for a different experience each time. Here’s the breakdown:
Festive Hotel is contemporary and chic, and its family-focused design and loft beds will appeal to travelers with tots.
Hard Rock Hotel Singapore (above), a place where the history of rock and roll comes alive, will appeal to young and hip travelers. It is also within easy reach of the Coliseum and the Resorts World Convention Centre, good if you’re attending concerts and business meetings within these venues.
If you’re staying in Hotel Michael, you’ll be surrounded by Michael Graves’ whimsical flair, from his signature colours to the art pieces that adorn the walls. Its proximity to many of the Resort’s attractions is a plus, like the Universal Studios Singapore and The Maritime Experiential Museum. Hotel Michael also houses many celebrity restaurants, the foremost being Joel Robuchon Restaurant.
Crockfords Tower, which also houses the RWS Casino, is a by-invitation only hotel that quite simply, delivers an ultra-luxury experience.
But if you’re looking for a perfect getaway back to nature, you’ll appreciate the tranquility of Equarius Hotel. Wake to the relaxing sights of a 2.9-hectare natural rainforest or the sea, yet be within easy reach of the rest of the Resort.
Get pampered at the Beach Villas (above), the epitome of luxury, peace and tranquility. With a pool right outdoor, 24-hour butler service and villas spacious enough for private and social events, you can kick back and relax in this luxurious home-away-from-home.
Not a hotel per se, but the Resort also boasts two Tree Top Lofts, the Angsana and Tembusu. Nestled within the natural rainforest, these “log cabins in the sky” can immerse you in the privacy and tranquility of the natural environment while still let you enjoy the comforts of modern amenities, personalized butler service and being just a stone’s throw away from the action in the Resort.
4. Food, glorious food
If there’s one thing we have yet to do that we would dearly love to, it’s to sample something from every F&B offering at the Resort. There are over 60 establishments, each one wildly different from the other. Palio will tantalize with its Italian flavours. Head down under for Aussie chow at Osia. Indulge in some Dim Sum at Feng Shui Inn. Or satisfy your craving for food close to home at the Malaysian Food Street: read our take on some of its signature dishes here and here.
With the all the food promotions happening in conjunction with the Grand Opening, we have more reasons to celebrate.
This theatrical magic spectacular opens on 8 November at the Festive Grand Theatre. Join the Seeker as she enters a mysterious fantasy world, befriends the Sorcerer, meets the whimsical Jester and finds herself in the midst of a battle between Good and Evil, led by the Sorcerer against the fearful Dungeon Master. Get your tickets before 22 October (for shows from 8 November to 31 December 2012) and get 15% off Category 2 to 4 tickets.
With so much to do (and eat), make a date with us on our Grand Opening weekend, starting Friday, 7 December. Or make plans to come visit us next year. Watch this space for more details! Meanwhile visit our website for more updates on our latest offerings.
