So it’s the start of the week and you’re feeling down and not a little bit out. The doctor would probably recommend a good dose of de-stressing exercises or meditation, but we prescribe a different  medicine – cakes, cakes, and more cakes – at Festive Hotel’s Boulangerie. We laid out the spread, shortlisted the hopefuls and here are our top three scrumptious selections.

#1: Choco Passion, $6.80 

Did you know that chocolate stimulates the secretion of endorphins in our brain, making us feel high and happy? That’s why this dome-shaped Choco Passion takes the cake as Boulangerie’s best-selling cake. You just want to go in for the kill (not recommended for sharing).  Slice the velvety chocolate mousse into half to reveal a delicious cheery chewy banana centre that makes this marriage perfect. Crowned with hazelnut, this stunner was wiped out in seconds.

#2: Strawberry Shortcake, $6.80

Boulangerie’s Strawberry Shortcake has got the bite that most don’t. Made with a crumbly biscuit base, fresh cream, perky strawberries and topped with crunchy mixed nuts, the resulting taste is a combination of fresh flavours and textures. Suited for those who prefer a cake that’s light and fruity, don’t miss our No. 2 favourite on the list.

#3: Tiramisu, $6.80

Ciao Bella! This is Tiramisu with a twist. To satisfy our sweet-toothed Halal guests, Boulangerie’s Tiramisu is non-alcoholic. It’s made with your usual mascarpone cheese and sponge cake soaked in coffee, but this is one cake that melts in the mouth. Refreshing and addictive, you’d wish the serving was bigger. But you might want to ‘chope’ space for the cupcakes and gelato too!
