[FOOD]: Festive goodies for the Lunar New Year

Home-made Pineapple Pastry with Imperial Bird’s Nest

It’s the season for food, food and more glorious food. With Christmas just over, 2013 just around the corner and the Lunar New Year barely six weeks after, there’s no rest for the glutton in us. That resolution to lose holiday weight will have to wait.

We added more padding to our waistlines as we got to taste three of Feng Shui Inn’s signature pastries, specially made for the Lunar New Year by Chef Li. Between the coarse skin walnut pastry and the pineapple pastry with bird’s nest, we couldn’t decide which we like better. We may just get them all when they go on sale from 11 Jan to 24 Feb 2013 at Feng Shui Inn, Crockfords Tower.

[INSIGHTS] Incanto: Not your average Joe

Joe Labero for Incanto at the Festive Grand Theatre Resorts World Sentosa

At the heart of Incanto is the story of a Seeker learning about friendship and bravery. What really mesmerized us were the magical illusions of the Sorcerer, played by Joe Labero. We caught the busy illusionist for a few questions

Christmas celebrations will seem a little hollow without some heavy-duty feasting. [INSIGHTS] O: Occasions to celebrate

RWS Invites Breakfast with the Stars at Mel's Drive-In

Some things in life are worth celebrating; birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, or even friendships. In Resorts World Sentosa, there is a place for almost every occasion. We dug up some cool ideas for celebrating your special day with that special group of people, starting with:

[INSIGHTS] N: Night life at the Resort

Hollywood After Party at Universal Studios Singapore

Spending a day in the resort is ideal – but when night creeps in, the Resort doesn’t sleep. At least, not that early. We check out what fun lurks around at dusk.

[FOOD] The Big Break’s big burger at Mel’s Drive-In

The Big Break (ep 3) at Universal Studios Singapore

How many of us can say that we’ve contributed a culinary creation to a restaurant at the tender age of 17? Not many, we wager, but the winner of episode 3 of The Big Break can say she has done so, and with pride. We give a quick recap of the episode and take a look at the burger that she has created for Mel’s Drive-In at Universal Studios Singapore® – and also, how you can win some goodies.

[Food]: 7 Christmas picks for this Fe(a)stive Season

Christmas goodies from Resorts World Sentosa

It is that time of the year again for giving, sharing, and feasting like there’s no tomorrow. To make sure that your taste buds are happy and your tummies are full to bursting, the Resort’s chefs have put on their collective thinking caps and created a range of Christmas goodies, pastries and savoury hampers (Tom Yum Roasted Turkey, anyone?) that you can take home.

We went on a feasting rampage and bring you a list of our top Christmas picks.

[INSIGHTS] Ocean Suites – living under the sea

Ocean Suites at Resorts World Sentosa

By Angeline Ng

My daughter Cherice can’t swim.  And she’s only two.  But she came up close-and-personal with a shark last week.

We had the chance to stay at Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS) new Ocean Suites for a night and what an experience it was.  Located at the Equarius Hotel, the 11 Ocean Suites are double-storey rooms with an ooh-and-wah view: floor-to-ceiling windows that look right into the world’s biggest aquarium exhibit, the Open Ocean Habitat at the S.E.A Aquarium.  With 50,000 fishes of 70 species, the Open Ocean Habitat also has the world’s largest viewing panel.
