We’re a week into the new year and for all of you who are working or schooling, it has probably stopped feeling like a celebration and back to the daily grind. Some of you might even be feeling nostalgic. Here at RWScoop we’re taking some time to reminisce about 2011 and all the colourful events that happened.
Opening of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Joël Robuchon Restaurant
The year was off to a delectable start as the world’s most decorated Michelin Star Chef, Joel Robuchon arrived on our shores and opened two concept restaurants, adding to our list of stellar celebrity restaurants. Truly fine-dining at its best, they’ve already won numerous awards in less than a year.
Madagascar: A Crate Adventure
The nine-minute indoor flume ride completes the amazing rides line-up for the first-ever theme park zone exclusively dedicated to the beloved characters of the Madagascar movie series.
Grand Opening of Universal Studios Singapore
The first Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia deserves a grand opening – and so there was! With thrilling performances, grand processions, and all round cheer, the Universal Studios Singapore grand opening was picture perfect.
Opening of Maritime Experiential Museum
A 360 multi-sensory typhoon experience, interactive exhibits, and story-telling galore. The Maritime Experiential Museum was certainly a museum unlike any other.
Halloween Horror Nights
With six scare zones and seven nights of horror, the brave and the resolute trooped down to USS for the first ever Halloween Horror Nights for thrills and scares.
Opening of TRANSFORMERS The Ride
Michael Bay, pyrotechnics, and the ultimate 3D ride experience, TRANSFORMERS The Ride launched to much fanfare. And the best part? EVAC totally kicked butt. Now that’s what we call a theme park ride.
Fairytale Christmas at Resorts World
It was a fairytale Christmas with 500,000 LED lights, roving characters and tableux, and musical performances. We hope you caught a shot of the 38-metre Christmas tree!
There was never a dull moment in 2011 with the star studded line-up of performances at the Coliseum (at Hard Rock Hotel) and the spanking new Waterfront Studios (boasting state of the art recording capabilities!) Here’s a look at some of the bigwigs who rocked our resort.

And what is a year full of exciting events without ending everything off with a bang? Our Boogie Countdown saw you dancing the night away and sending off 2011 in the most spectacular way possible. Here’s to an even more exciting 2012!
